Rosewood House was built in 1912 for a family who grew roses for the flower shows, and the walled garden they planted is still its heart: four hundred roses on brick and on trellis, a pergola long enough to walk a bride down, and a lawn with a white gazebo where couples now marry. The garden room seats ninety for dinner; the lawn and a marquee, one hundred and forty.
The open day is an invitation in the old sense. Come through the gate, walk the garden with our gardener, sit under the pergola where the ceremony will be, taste the wedding menu in the garden room — and stop at the stationer’s table, where your invitations can be drawn before you leave.
